Our products are developed to the highest standards of quality, functioning and design. We hope you enjoy your new PALSON STEEL
hob.
Read these instructions before using the hob and keep them for future reference and follow them closely.
Before you use your hob, check that the voltage indicated on the product is the same as in your home.
Operating instructions
- Position the appliance in a suitable place, near an electric socket.
- Once the electrical appliance has been suitably positioned, make sure that the control is in the “0” position.
- If the hob is being used for the first time, it is possible that the invisible protective covering has not yet been removed. A little smoke
is likely to be produced, but this is normal.
- Ensure that there is no extraneous material such as water or food on the ring before switching on.
Practical advice
- Always use flat bottomed frying pans and sauce pans that make good contact with the heating ring.
- The hob has various temperature settings. Use the lower settings (0 to 3) for simmering or cooking at low temperatures and higher
settings (from 4 to the maximum) for boiling or cooking food.
- Because of the way that the hob is constructed, residual heat will remain after it has been switched off. This heat can be used to keep
some food hot for a short period or for example, to dry rice or potatoes.
Using the appliance safely
- The surface around the ring can get hot when the ring is functioning.
- Choose a position near an electric socket but distant from any source of water.
- The work surface must be heat resistant, dry and approximately 75cm high.
- A 5 cm space must be kept free around the sides of the appliance, as its sides can become hot when it is in use.
- Ensure that the electrical power cable does not come into contact with any part of the appliance. It must be kept out of the reach of
children.
- Do not position the appliance under wall cupboards.
- Do not try to move the hob when there is a saucepan on it or until the hob has cooled down completely.
- Make sure that the saucepan is positioned in the centre of the ring and that its handle is in a safe position.
- Care must be taken when using oil or fat when cooking. Make sure that food is not overheated. You must be attentive at all the time
to ensure this does not happen.
- Once you have finished cooking, turn the temperature control to the “0” position.
- Be sure to unplug the appliance from the power socket after use.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended when there are children near it.
- Do not position the appliance near material such as curtains, so as to avoid any risk of fire.
- This appliance is not intended for use by people (including children) whose physical, sensorial or mental state prevents them from
using it safely or who lack the necessary experience or knowledge, unless supervised or given instructions regarding its use by a
person responsible for their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or his authorised technical agent or by a qualified technician,
so as to avoid any risk.
Care and maintenance
- Before cleaning, first ensure that the appliance is switched off and unplugged.
- Do not submerge the appliance in water.
- The whole surface may be cleaned simply with a damp, soft cloth and soap.
- For difficult stains we recommend the use of a cream cleaner that does not scratch the hob.
- Do not use coarse or abrasive products.
- The steel of the hob can be cleaned using a metal cleaner.
- For easier cleaning, we recommend you remove food that spills onto the hob while the hob is still warm, but not when it is hot. Be
careful not to burn yourself when cleaning the hob.
Note:
Do not switch on the hob while there are saucepans or frying pans on the heating ring to avoid damaging the appliance.
